A. Hepatitis A Vaccines
1. Avaxim® 160 U Adult / Avaxim® 80 U Pediatric (Sanofi Pasteur)
Formulation:
Inactivated Hepatitis A virus (strain GBM) adsorbed on aluminum hydroxide.
Packaging:
0.5 mL pre-filled syringe (single dose).
Dosage and Administration:
- Adults ≥ 16 years: 0.5 mL IM in deltoid; booster 6–12 months after first dose.
- Children 12 months–15 years: 0.5 mL IM; booster 6–18 months later.
Indications:
Active immunization against infection caused by Hepatitis A virus.
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to any component (e.g., neomycin, formaldehyde).
- Defer vaccination during acute or severe illness.
Storage / Cold Chain Requirement:
- Store at +2°C to +8°C.
- Do not freeze. Protect from light.

2. Havrix® 720 / 1440 (GlaxoSmithKline – GSK)
Formulation:
Inactivated Hepatitis A virus (strain HM175) adsorbed on aluminum hydroxide.
Packaging:
0.5 mL (720 ELISA Units, pediatric) / 1.0 mL (1440 ELISA Units, adult) pre-filled syringe.
Dosage and Administration:
- Adults ≥ 19 years: 1 mL IM; booster after 6–12 months.
- Children 1–18 years: 0.5 mL IM; booster after 6–12 months.
Indications:
Active immunization against Hepatitis A infection.
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to vaccine components (including neomycin).
- Postpone vaccination if febrile or acutely ill.
Storage / Cold Chain Requirement:
- Keep at +2°C to +8°C.
- Do not freeze.

B. Hepatitis B Vaccines
1. Engerix-B® (GSK)
Formulation:
Recombinant Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) expressed in yeast, adsorbed on aluminum hydroxide.
Packaging:
Single-dose pre-filled syringe: 0.5 mL (10 µg, pediatric) or 1.0 mL (20 µg, adult).
Dosage and Administration:
- Adults ≥ 19 years: 3 doses (0, 1, and 6 months).
- Children and infants: 3 doses (0, 1, and 6 months) or per national immunization schedule.
Indications:
Active immunization against all known subtypes of Hepatitis B virus.
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to yeast or any component.
- Defer vaccination in case of acute febrile illness.
Storage / Cold Chain Requirement:
+2°C to +8°C. Do not freeze.

C. Combined Hepatitis A + B Vaccine
1. Twinrix® (GSK)
Formulation:
Inactivated Hepatitis A virus (720 ELISA Units) combined with recombinant Hepatitis B surface antigen (20 µg).
Packaging:
Pre-filled syringe, 1.0 mL (single adult dose).
Dosage and Administration:
- Adults ≥ 19 years: 3 doses (0, 1, and 6 months).
- Accelerated schedule: 0, 7, and 21 days + booster at 12 months (optional for travelers).
Indications:
Active immunization against both Hepatitis A and B viruses in adults and adolescents.
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to any component or prior Hepatitis A/B vaccination.
- Postpone if febrile or acutely ill.
Storage / Cold Chain Requirement:
+2°C to +8°C. Do not freeze.
